Need to know
- Notion rebuilt its agent harness with computer-use, 24-hour task runs, and a new credit system priced 90% cheaper via Auto.
- Different emerged from stealth with $48M and an AI system that runs B2B demand generation end-to-end for lean marketing teams.
- Monday.com Harmony launches as a voice AI platform that calls, qualifies, and hands off sales leads in roughly 200 milliseconds.
- Town raised $108M Series B at a $1B valuation, co-led by Forerunner and Menlo, four months after its public launch.
- Mintlify Autopilot ships as an always-on agent that watches code changes and opens pull requests to keep docs in sync.
New Tools
Monday.com launched Harmony, a voice AI platform built on its May acquisition of OneAI that calls, qualifies, and follows up on sales leads before handing them to human reps.
- 200ms reply latency: Harmony uses small, task-specific models and claims sub-200ms response times, available in the US, UK, Australia, and Singapore.
- Built on OneAI: Monday.com acquired the underlying voice tech in May for $14.1M in cash, and Harmony is now the first standalone product from that deal.
Mintlify shipped Autopilot, an always-on beta agent for Pro and Enterprise plans that watches code changes, drafts documentation updates, and opens pull requests for review.
- Reads code context: the agent monitors the repo continuously and triggers only when a change is semantically relevant to existing documentation, reducing noise.
- PR-based review flow: every proposed doc change surfaces as a pull request, so engineering teams approve or reject updates inside the workflow they already use.
doubleAI, co-founded by Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua and backed by Lightspeed, Bessemer, Nvidia, and Dell, launched a runtime AI model that cuts compute costs by optimizing code execution as it runs, reporting a 67% cost reduction at one early customer.
- Lives inside running code: unlike static code-review or compilation tools, doubleAI's model operates at execution time, dynamically adjusting compute paths without requiring a redeploy.
- Nvidia-backed: Nvidia's participation in the funding signals hardware-level integration potential and positions doubleAI inside the inference-cost reduction stack.
Product Changes
Notion shipped a rebuilt agent harness on October 19 that gives Notion Agents their own computer and browser, a new Review for me safety mode, and tasks that can run for up to 24 hours.
- Auto is 90% cheaper: the redesigned Auto routing layer now delivers frontier-quality results at a fraction of prior credit consumption, paired with a new credit system and bring-your-own-key support.
- AI Command Center coming soon: an improved MCP and a centralized command surface for all agent activity are also in the release, with the Command Center flagged as imminent.
Factory announced a partnership with Databricks that lets its autonomous Droids run software development tasks against enterprise data and models governed through the Databricks platform, with purchasing available directly through Databricks Marketplace.
- Governed data access: Droids can now plan, build, and validate engineering work using an enterprise's own data lake under Databricks' Unity Catalog governance, rather than requiring data export to Factory's environment.
- Marketplace distribution: teams already procuring through Databricks Marketplace can add Factory without a separate vendor contract, lowering the procurement friction for large engineering orgs.
Dovetail shipped a side-by-side Chat layout on October 20 that opens the AI assistant beside a project, dataset, doc, or folder rather than covering it, and updates context automatically as the user navigates.
- Persistent and context-aware: Chat stays open across navigation within Dovetail, pulling context from wherever the user lands, so researchers do not lose their thread when switching between data and synthesis views.
- Repositionable panel: users can move Chat to the left or keep it on the right, and the layout activates automatically when screen width allows.
GitHub shipped a workflow that lets developers move an active Copilot agent session from the GitHub Copilot app into VS Code without losing the conversation, code changes, or working context.
- Preserves full session state: the handoff carries the conversation history, code edits, and file context into VS Code, so developers can inspect diffs, run the project locally, and make manual adjustments from where the agent left off.
- Closes the app-to-editor gap: previously, work started in the Copilot app had to be manually re-created or copy-pasted into the IDE for local testing and review.
Raises and Valuations
Different, the B2B demand-generation AI platform founded by Ajeet Singh, raised $48M at launch out of stealth; round size was disclosed but lead investor and valuation were not.
Town, the San Francisco AI work-assistant startup founded by former Plaid CTO Jean-Denis Greze, raised $108M in a Series B co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures at a $1B valuation, just four months after its public launch and with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Serena Ventures, and First Round Capital, bringing total raised to $160M.
OpenAI is rushing a $30B funding round, targeting a valuation above $1.4 trillion, competing for capital from SoftBank and Abu Dhabi's MGX before Anthropic's expected mid-November IPO, as the company reports $50B annualized revenue post-GPT-6 Astra and targets $70B by year-end.
