Need to know
- GitHub launched Copilot Fusion at Universe, routing each coding task to the best model or mix of models.
- GitHub also shipped Agent Merge natively into pull requests, auto-fixing failing Actions and merge conflicts.
- Cognition is fielding investor offers at $70B-$80B, weeks after closing a round at $48B.
- Fragment exited stealth with $56M from 8VC, General Catalyst and A* to automate procurement exceptions for manufacturers.
- Seismic introduced Deal Agent and Library Agent at Shift 2026, surfacing deal risks and governing sales content.
New Tools
GitHub Design has open-sourced Replica, an AI-powered tool that turns ideas into interactive prototypes using a team's own design system.
- Built for product teams: any non-engineer on a product team can describe what they want and Replica generates an interactive prototype grounded in the company's actual design system, not generic components.
- Open-source from day one: teams can self-host, extend and contribute, removing vendor lock-in from the early prototyping step.
Jedify launched Data Agents, letting teams build autonomous analysts in plain language on top of its context graph for data-intensive workflows.
- Plain-language setup: teams describe the analyst they need and Jedify assembles the agent, pulling from its context graph rather than requiring SQL or code.
- Monitoring built in: agents can watch business metrics continuously and surface anomalies without a human scheduling the query.
Sierra launched Compliance Console, giving businesses a single place to govern the regulated outreach their AI agents make across calls, texts and emails over days or weeks.
- Regulation by locale: the console tracks varying rules by country, state and industry so agents doing loan origination, collections or insurance renewal stay inside legal bounds wherever they operate.
- Long-horizon scope: addresses multi-touch, multi-channel agent campaigns rather than one-off support chats, a gap in existing compliance tooling.
Qodo can now follow links from Jira tickets to specifications in Confluence and flag code that satisfies the ticket but misses a requirement in the linked document.
- Cross-tool requirement tracing: the reviewer follows the link, reads the spec and maps its requirements to the diff, catching gaps a human reviewer would need to catch manually.
- Security requirements in scope: the announcement highlights the specific case where a linked spec contains a security requirement never addressed in the implementation.
Product Changes
GitHub launched Copilot Fusion at Universe, a system that selects which model or combination of models handles each step of a coding task based on what that step requires.
- Multi-model orchestration: Fusion weighs reasoning, code generation, debugging and tool use independently per step rather than sending an entire task to one model.
- Scale signal: GitHub says agents now start 40% of pull requests, and developers pushed code 17.9 billion times this year, more than 2024 and 2025 combined.
Agent Merge, previously available only in the Copilot app and VS Code, is now embedded in pull requests on GitHub.com, where it watches for failing Actions and merge conflicts and fixes them automatically.
- Opt-in per PR: developers select Watch and fix in the merge box and choose whether Copilot should address failing workflows, conflicts, or both.
- Cloud-resident: the agent works in the background without requiring an open IDE or a local machine running.
GitHub code scanning entered public preview with the ability to detect AI-specific vulnerabilities including indirect prompt injection, sensitive information disclosure and excessive agency, scanning automatically on every pull request.
- OWASP LLM Top 10 coverage: indirect prompt injection, the top risk on the OWASP list for LLM applications, is now a first-class scan target alongside other agent-specific attack surfaces.
- No configuration required: scans run on pull requests automatically, putting AI security checks in the same CI gate as existing vulnerability detection.
Seismic introduced Deal Agent, which surfaces deal risks for revenue teams, and Library Agent, which keeps sales and AI content accurate and governed, alongside an MCP server that puts Seismic workflows inside Claude, ChatGPT, Google and Meta assistants.
- Deal Agent: monitors active deals and proactively flags risks so reps act before opportunities stall, rather than reviewing pipeline in weekly calls.
- MCP server via Seismic Everywhere: content, playbooks and agent workflows are now callable from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Canva, Slack and ServiceNow without leaving those tools.
